What: 25 Years of Lumpen Magazine and the Launch of Lumpen Radio

We are celebrating the 25th Anniversary issue of Lumpen Magazine and launching Lumpen Radio WLPN-LP, Chicago on 105.5 FM!
It’s hard to believe we have been doing Lumpen Magazine for 25 years. But what seems even longer is the time it has taken us to launch our new radio station. It’s been almost two years since the FCC granted us a license to build a new FM radio station for Chicago. After 18 months of planning, practicing, producing, and bugging everyone we know to help us make a community radio station we are ready to go!
We will power the tower and broadcast on the terrestrial airwaves at 105.5 FM and keep it on 24/7.
Lumpen Radio has already become a home for hundreds of DJs, producers, talk show hosts, guests and friends who have come together to create amazing programs. And now we are to take to the air and amplify everything we love about Chicago.
Join us as we celebrate everyone who helped to get us here. Without the support of individual donors, kickstarter backers, businesses and philanthropic persons like you, none of this would have been possible.
The official kickoff takes place from 4-8PM on Saturday, November 5th at the Co-Prosperity Sphere. This will be fun family event with food, beverages, and live radio. Hot off the press copies of our 25th Anniversary issue of Lumpen Magazine will also be on hand to mark this occasion.
Lumpen 128 was designed by our long time collaborator, Studio Chew, and contains works from all all star cast of contributors including:
